Schleicher ASK13 GMF
The Schleicher ASK13 is the ASK21’s predecessor being produced from 1966-1978. The ASK13 is a glider very well-known globally due to its superb training abilities. The ASK13 is used for advanced training such as spins and other such stalls. Due to the docile nature of the ASK13 these are all very easy to recover from and pilots are well trained extensively to cope with such eventualities. Their construction of steel tubing and a string fabric coating gives the ASK13 its iconic strength. The ASK13 is configured in a tandem cockpit, with the student pilot in the front of the aircraft and the instructor sitting behind them. The ASK13 has a wingspan of 16m (52ft 6in) and a height of 1.6m (5ft 3in). It has a top speed of 200km/h and a MAX g loading of +4 and -2 .This aircraft is a vital asset to the running of the gliding club and will continue to serve the club for many years to come.
